It’s not hard to adore this show no matter why you watch it. Exploding random things. Yea that’s cool. Answering age-old myths. Yep, I can dig it. Beating the crap out of a test dummy. Pretty interesting. Flaunting two impressive face hangings? Now THAT’S what I call quality entertainment.

Can a human catch an arrow? Busted

Can two colliding bullets fuse together? Plausible

Can a mustache turn two scientists into classy gentlemen? Confirmed

A couple of SNLs ago (sorry, I’m not up to date) Zach Galifianakis shaved his signature beard into mustache, backstage while Vampire Weekend was playing. Later in the show he put on a convincing fake beard to make him look as he did before. I don’t know the current status of his facial hair or if he kept the stache after the show.

I find it incredible he shaved his beard. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for mustaches and everything, but his beard was pretty epic and defining. It’s like Tom Selleck shaving his mustache or Bert shaving his unibrow.

Check the backstage footage of the beard removal on Hulu:

She, of course, was on of the nominees. She did an amazing job of keeping a straight face while the camera was on her and should have won just for that antic. Shenanigins!

Youth in Revolt, a movie staring Michael Cera (from TV show Arrested Development and movie Superbad) is set for release this Friday. In the movie, Michael’s character, Nick, creates a badass alterego (Francois) to aid him in his pursuit of his crush. Apparently an alterego consists of blue eyes, a stache, aviators and a cigarette. If this is how you normally look, I guess your alterego would look something similar to what regular Michael Cera looks like.

Cera explains in an interview published on Collider.com:

It was just fun to get to wear contacts, put a mustache on, transform how I looked, just say really gross things and smoke.

Christmastime with the family completed, I attempted to watch Mustache Porn aka Sherlock Holmes on the big screen last night. Unfortunately for my plan, I grew up in a small town with one movie theater and the sole showing of Sherlock Holmes (in which Jude Law’s Watson showcases a burly mustache) at 7:00 sold out. To a guy three people in front of me in line. Without a mustache.

Now, I also don’t currently have a mustache, and didn’t get in line until after him, so I let it slide. But I was deprived of Watson’s stache on the big screen and what should have been a celebration of the real Sherlock Holmes, replete with a robust Sherlock stache via Robert Downey Jr., who has previously modeled a fantastic lip rug.

Downey Jr. let down Stachist’s everywhere with his decision to not display the classic Sherlock Stache, but I’m sure he had his reasons. Like inexplicably not wanting to be sweet.
