Open Call for Writers
I am looking for writers to contribute blog posts about things related to mustaches. It’s a pretty simple idea. It’s a blog about mustaches. As this project is just getting off the ground any writer will have an immediate influence on the style and direction of this baby.
Ideally you will have experience with blogging, a finger on the pulse of the blogosphere, and a thing for mustaches. If you wear a mustache, even better! But it’s not a requirement. Preferably you have a college education and got A’s on all your English essays. Preferably you have experience with WordPress, the software upon which this site is built, and have your own blog. Knowing basic HTML (links, etc.) and an ability to manipulate and create images would also help.
Compensation will be an equal share of advertising and affiliate income which at the moment is nothing. I hate soliciting help without being able to pay, but hey, that’s the bane of the Internet. Every idiot is now a professional writer, pundit and photographer (myself included) and online advertising pays beans. Participating in Stachist is a labor of love. It has the potential to be popular B-list blog (I’m aiming high here) or it could just be a fart at a crowded rock concert. It will be what we make of it. You can have fun doing it. You can learn from doing it. You can add it to your resume. Hell, you can even make up your own job title.
My goal is for the site to have at least one post per weekday, hopefully more. The minimum commitment I’m asking of writers is one post per week (again, the more the better). So that would make us a team of 5 caballeros. I have no preference as to your location, in fact I’d like the team to be spread out. (I’m in San Francisco.)
So, if you think you’d like to be a part of this great experiment, please send an email explaining why you think you’d be a worthy candidate to write@stachist.com. A sample blog post, links to your own blog or comments on other blogs would also be helpful.
Here’s a list of blogs that do a good job:

Hello my name is Jake Nackos and I am a mustache enthusiest. The sight of a mustache alone is something that never fails to put a smile on my face. Its hard for me sometimes when I meet people that dont understand the mustache. I would just like to reach out to them, grab their index finger and slowly bring it up to my stache, never blinking in fear the eye contact would be broken. I feel that a small mustache-intervention is all some need to be part of this exclusive, but not reclusive, community of mustache happiness.

Its good to see so manny people on the hipster mustache bandwagon. I mean the skinny jeans and bow ties just weren’t cutting it on the cool scale. It just fills my heart with joy to see a man who just spent 30 minutes smearing pal-made on his facial hair and getting his vest just right to go get a cup of organic coffee at the nearest non-Starbucks. But I’m not worried, the Nuge will still be sporting his masterpiece when you all have moved on to something more ironic. Cheers.
